Unfortunately, after an extensive search of the Coast Guard Historian's area of the Coast Guard website we were unable to locate this document as of May 2020. It is not uncommon for this to occur as this type of document does not always make when a website is reworked and updated.

Fortunately we captured a copy of the document at that time and offer it here as a teacher's resource about lighthouses.

Teacher’s Lighthouse Resource For Grades K - 4

A newer rewritten version is available at the US Lighthouse Society. It is entitled The Lighthouse Story.

Written in 2003
The information presented in this section of the Military Wive's Network was found at the U.S. Coast Guard Historian's Office and has been replicated here with the pictures resized to allow for easier viewing. We originally found the information under the Lighthouses & Lightships section, it was in the section labeled Teachers: a Guide to Teaching About Lighthouses, Kindergarten Through the Fourth Grade.

We have replicated the contents here as an online resource. Although the pictures have be resized and the content formatted for better presentation in this media the document is unchanged.

Enjoy
